Worsley Glass Guarantee Information

We offer the following guarantees on our products.

White Profile PVC-U Guarantee

  • Worsley Glass Ltd guarantee, for a period of 10 years, the optical and mechanical performance of their PVC-U window profiles, within limits defined by the British Plastics Federation specification for high impact PVC-U hollow profiles, provided they are maintained in accordance with the BPF/GGF Trade Standard for PVC-U windows issued 02 January 1989 and all other codes of practice.
  • Worsley Glass Ltd guarantees such white profile for a period of 10 years.
  • This guarantee shall apply only to defects appearing within ten from the date of extrusion provided that Worsley Glass Ltd is promptly notified in writing of such defects within that ten year period.
  • The sole and exclusive remedy with respect to the above guarantee or with respect to any other claim relating to defects or any other condition arising from the use of the products supplied by Worsley Glass Ltd, however caused, is limited to repair or replacement of such products at Worsley Glass Ltd option.
  • Worsley Glass Ltd does not make any representations or guarantees and in no event shall Worsley Glass Ltd be liable for any other loss or damage whether direct, indirect, special or consequential damage.
  • Nothing in this guarantee shall exclude or restrict the liability of Worsley Glass Ltd for the death or personal injury resulting from negligence in so far as the same prohibited by statue.
  • The guarantee is only applicable when the resultant windows, doors and other fabricated products are installed in the UK, Channel Islands or Eire.

Foil Wrapped PVC-U Profile Guarantee

  • The foils are guaranteed for colour fastness and weathering to DIN 53387/54001 in mid to Northern Europe (Latitude 45° to 60°).
  • The foil is Guaranteed not to bubble, shrink or de-laminate from the profile to which it is adhered on its exposure to normally predicted changes in climate and atmospheric conditions of temperature and moisture within Mid to Northern Europe (latitude 45° to 60°) and in normally expected conditions within the home. No guarantees are given on its performance to other atmospheres, i.e. containing solvents, abrasive particles, etc.
  • The foil wrapped profiles are guaranteed not to be effected adversely by the use of normal household cleaners, provided that manufacturers’ instructions are followed. Strong solutions of bleach and other chemicals should be avoided.
  • Excluding the aforementioned, no specific guarantees are offered on durability where this relates to tensile strength, tearing strength, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, performance under extreme temperatures, resistance to scratching or resistance to stains.
  • The sole and exclusive remedy with respect to a claim arising from these guarantees or with respect to any claim relating to defects or any other conditions arising from the use of the aforementioned products supplied by Worsley Glass Ltd, howsoever caused, is limited to the repair or replacement of foil wrapped profiles at Worsley Glass Ltd option, Worsley Glass Ltd does not make and other representation or guarantees and in no event shall Worsley Glass Ltd be liable for direct, indirect or consequential damages or loss. Nothing in this guarantee shall exclude or restrict the liability of Worsley Glass Ltd for the death or personal injury from its negligence in so far as the same is prohibited by statue.
  • Nothing in this guarantee affects the statutory rights of the consumers.

Sealed Double Glazed Units

  • If any of the materials or components used in the manufacture of double glazed units prove to be defective during the relevant guarantee period specified below by reason of faulty workmanship on the part of Worsley Glass Ltd or the use of faulty materials in manufacture by Worsley Glass Ltd, Then Worsley Glass Ltd shall at its own option either replace or repair the same free of charge.
  • All safety glass is manufactured to conform with BS 6206:1981 impact performance for safety glass.
  • Worsley Glass Ltd does not accept any responsibility or afford a guarantee for manufacturing units using customers own materials this is done so entirely at the customers own risk.
  • Sealed double glazed units are guaranteed for a period of 5 years (into drained systems).
  • Sealed double glazed units are guaranteed for a period of 2 years (into timber frames).
  • The sole and exclusive remedy with respect to the above guarantee or with respect to any other claim relating to defects or any other condition arising from the use of the products supplied by Worsley Glass Ltd, however caused, is limited to repair or replacement of such products at Worsley Glass Ltd option.
  • A minimum call out fee of £80 + vat will be charged for all reglaze work outside the first 12 months of the guarantee

Hardware

  • All hardware products covered under our standard 1 year guarantee are designed and developed in accordance with the latest industry standards and legislation. If any product should fail due to sub-standard materials or workmanship, under normal wear and tear conditions, it will be repaired or replaced (full terms and conditions available upon request).

This guarantee does not apply to:

  1. Defects due to normal wear and tear;
  2. Any materials or components incorrectly assembled or installed, assembled or installed contrary to Worsley Glass Ltd instructions or recommendations or which have been damaged during assembly or installation;
  3. Any materials or components which have been subject to wilful or accidental damage or which have been misused or subject to abnormal working conditions of which have undergone alteration or repair without Worsley Glass Ltd approval.
  4. Any glass breakage after the date of delivery or installation; Any frame manufactured outside of Worsley Glass Ltd recommendation’s where the customer was informed prior and agreed to accept full responsibility of such.
  5. A minimum call out fee of £80 + vat will be charged for all remedial work outside the first 12 months of the guarantee.

Composite Doors

  • Our Solid Core composite doors are guaranteed for a period of 3 years from date of collection / delivery / installation.
  • Wear and tear of the product is not covered by this guarantee. Damage caused by incorrect installation or maintenance or lack thereof is not covered by this guarantee.
  • A call out fee of £150 + vat will be charged for all remedial work from the date of installation.

Bifold Doors

Terms and conditions of sale for Smarts Visifold 1000 Bifolding Doors:

  1. Definitions

In these terms

“Company” refers to Worsley Glass Ltd

“Contract” refers to the contract between Customer and the Company for the sale and purchase of Goods, in accordance with these Terms

“Order” refers to the customers Order of said goods.

“Price” refers to the agreed sale price of the Goods.

“Terms” refers to the standard terms of a sale, inclusive of any special terms agreed in writing between the Customer and the Company

“Customer” refers to the individual or company named on the order.

  1. Goods

Goods will remain property of Worsley Glass Ltd until such time as payment is made in full. Risk in the Goods becomes the Customers responsibility once Goods have been delivered or collected by the Customer, or its nominated agent.

  1. Delivery

Delivery is not included in the price of the product and must be agreed by the Customer and the Company in writing before an order is placed. The delivery location must be suitable and safe. Should a delivery need to be aborted due to unsafe conditions of the delivery location, the Company reserves the right to charge additional fees in order to complete the delivery process. If the delivery location is unattended when the Company is delivering the product, the Company reserves the right to charge the Customer for redelivery at a time when the delivery location is attended.

  1. Warranties

Unless otherwise confirmed in writing, a 12 month manufacturers warranty applies to parts failing within that time frame. Smart Systems offer a 10 year warranty on colour stability unless otherwise notified in writing. Wear and tear of the product is not covered by this warranty. Damage caused by incorrect installation or maintenance or lack thereof is not covered by this warranty.

  1. Ordering

No responsibility is taken by Worsley Glass Ltd for incorrect measurements provided by the Customer. All our doors are manufactured to the Customer requirements and if supplied measurements are incorrect this responsibility falls with the Customer. All orders must be made in writing, either on the Companies ordering form or via email. All payments must be made in advance of manufacturing beginning on a Customers ordered products. Any variations in ordering must be communicated with the Company in advance of manufacturing beginning. The Company reserves the right to charge the Customer incurred costs for amendments to an order once manufacturing has already begun. The company also reserves the right to refuse to make amendments once manufacture has begun. The company will make reasonable endeavours to make any variations before manufacture commences, and to keep original delivery dates but this may not always be possible. We strongly recommend double checking all sizing before an order is placed. The responsibility for providing all correct sizing and product requirements falls to the Customer.

  1. Products

Any illustrations on the companies website or within literature are for Customer guidance only and not to scale or a guarantee of exactness. Due to manufacturing processes, exact colour matches are not guaranteed but will be matched as closely as possible.

  1. Payment Terms

All orders must be paid in full before manufacture can begin. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque, bacs and debit / credit card.

  1. Cancellations

The company reserves the right to cancel any Order, for any reason, without penalty or incurring liability by providing written notice prior to manufacture commencing. The Customer is entitled to cancel an Order by providing written notice within 24 hours of an order being placed, and the company accepts this cancellation in writing. Any incurred costs as a result of the cancellation will be charged to the Customer, for example but not limited to labour and material costs.

Worsley Glass Ltd terms and conditions are fully compliant with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For more information visit the trading standards website. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

A call out fee of £150 + vat will be charged for all remedial work from the date of installation

Integral Blinds

  • Any integral blind supplied and fitted by Worsley Glass is not covered by our standard guarantee and warranty. This is covered by our supplier Morley Glass.
  • Once installed any defect or  faulty product will be covered by their standard terms and conditions.
  • An installation fee of £180 + vat will be charged for any refit of an integral blind that has been remade and supplied due to a fault or defect.
